You have decided that enough is enough.
There are dreams and goals you’ve set for yourself, that you want to meet in everyday practice of your life. Maybe they’re big goals. Maybe they’re small goals. Maybe they seem small to someone else, but for you, they’re huge—either for what they’ll let you do, or for what they mean to you.
You know you have potential. You know you have strengths (even if you can’t always see them.)
You’re not after pity; you want a guide.
Someone who listens to what you want to get done, and helps you figure out new ways to get there. The old road maps haven’t done you much good. But you’re ready to try new styles, different approaches, and your family supports that decision.
You want to feel successful, empowered to take risks, more confident in your abilities and your commitment to follow through. But what does that mean, really?
For some, it might mean finally breaking loose of their well-paying job, the one that leaves them drained and restless, in order to pursue a career that excites them.
For others, it could be getting their Bachelors, or navigating the waters to, and through, grad school after false starts and stutters.
The backgrounds are all different, and the goals are too, but there is a pattern:
Everyone avoided their goal.
They didn’t mean to. They were just very good at explaining to themselves why it wouldn’t work, why they weren’t ready, why their goal was silly and if they could just buckle down and focus, they’d be happy where they were.
And then they decided they were ready to do it anyways. So have you.
What does it mean to feel successful, empowered to take risks, more confident in your abilities and your commitment to follow through?
Well, only you know what it means for you. Even if you can’t see it yet.
That’s what I want. For you to not only discover what feeling successful, empowered, confident, looks like to you… but to then achieve it.
You know the destination.
I know the guide.
I’ve spent years coaching people, helping them grow into themselves in new ways and become the person they want to be. My years of work as a psychologist instilled an appreciation for the humanity and dignity of the people who have embarked on the path for change.
I will be blunt: it is never easy.
And watching the transformation that comes over people—the excitement and inner strength that takes hold of them as they work on their goals and their futures—tells me that the rewards are absolutely worth the struggle.
That’s why I shifted my focus from psychologist to coach. I want to open up new worlds of success and positive self-esteem for adolescents and adults. Hence my work the Empowered Learning Centers, which emphasize new ways of learning through brain-based and neuroscience research.
The strengths you already have are your best tools.
My approach is informal, and designed to give you chance to look at your life with excitement, not disappointment. To reflect on your most important values and passions—not the ones your parents, your partner, or your society thinks you should have.
I’m not here to judge you. I am here as a guide, to offer support as you purpose your goals based on your values. You can explore your future and build it in a safe environment.
Wondering how this all works?
If you’re interested in getting started, we’ll have an initial meeting to discuss what you’re looking to change in your life, how coaching can best help you, how you see your strengths, and what have been the major roadblocks and challenges that have tripped you up in the past.
I know that can seem like a lot for an initial meeting. I do it this way so that we have a chance to get to know each other a bit, and to see how I can be of most use to you in achieving your changes.
Contact me to arrange that initial meeting (which can be done in person at any of my office locations, on the phone, or through Skype.)
